Public Speaking: Bloopers
Bloopers are clumsy mistakes that are usually made in public. The television show 'TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes' and many blooper books are indicators of the interest we have in other people's goofs. Here are two from 'All Time Great Bloopers' by Blooper Snooper Kermit Schafer and one from 'More Press Boners' by Earle Tempel, and how you might use them in a presentation. * A while back I heard about a DJ on WIOD in Miami, Florida who said, 'This is Alan Courtney speaking. Don't forget, tonight at nine, our special guest . . . (pause) . . .will be . . . I forgot.' Public Speaking: Dueling Flip Charts

Author:
Tom Antion

Here is a very interesting way to use flip charts when public speaking. Put one on both sides of the stage and pop back and forth between them. You can have an audience member volunteer at each flip chart helping you record input from other audience members.

This has a tremendous 'Wake em Up' value because

* You have audience members on stage,

* You are in the audience, and

* Audience members are providing the input.

You are not limited to doing this with flip charts. You could have duel overhead projectors for larger crowds. You could still even have your darned old PowerPoint on a screen in the middle. You could even have flip charts placed all around the room so they are ready when you break up into smaller groups. Then the results pages could be torn off and taped in a row on the wall.

How To Become A Supremely Confident Public Speaker
What does it take to become a supremely confident public speaker? Well it means that you will need to be: 1. Captivating 2. Relaxed 3. Spontaneous 4. Informative 5. Charismatic 6. Funny 7. Compassionate 8. Interactive 9. Empathic 10. Inspiring 11. Coherent 12. Energetic Now I know that looks like a long list so I don't just expect you to memorize it or attempt to start working on all of those at once. This is why. You see, every individual has within them a natural public speaker that already embodies all of those qualities. Now you may find that hard to believe so I'll show you what I mean. Just take any of those items in that list and imagine yourself being that way in front of an audience. I can bet that in each case you were able to do that. So what does that mean? Well it means that you already know how to be all those things already otherwise you wouldn't have been able to imagine them in your mind. You see the ability to imagine something means you already have the information required for that particular task. Moreover when combined with feelings of inspiration and action it automatically brings that that way of being out into manifestation. So in summary there are three main steps to becoming a supremely confident public speaker: 1. Imagination combined with, 2. Inspiration to be that person combined with, 3. Action. There is one thing that blocks that natural flow, fear! Fear of looking foolish, fear of being rejected, fear of making mistakes, and fear of being too boring, and so on. Get rid of the fear and you restart this natural flow. Another name for that natural flow is: "Your Spontaneous Genuine Self". The Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) was developed to help restart that natural flow easily, quickly and painlessly. If you...

5 Ways to Use Public Speaking to Build Your Client Base
I'd give anything to travel back in time and tell my eight-year-old self that I'd eventually build a business from public speaking. In third grade, opening my mouth and speaking my mind to a group of people was a recipe for public humiliation: voice habitually quavering, thoughts lost between my brain and my headgear, and shaking so intense that my classmates sparked a rumor that I suffered from ...
