Motivational Speakers - Creating a Vehicle for Dreams |
|
Motivation is the fuel that feeds our dreams and drives us to succeed, and the right motivational speaker can change your next training event from an arbitrary collection of dos and don’ts to a pit stop that will breathe new life into your business. The role of a motivational speaker may seem a bit elusive. The title implies a call to action and the goal at the end of the day is to facilitate a change in behaviour. The last generation of motivators were adept at getting an audience to believe - “I can do it!” - but they often failed to provide the tools, or failed to start shaping the skills, that are necessary to implement this new-found inspiration. The key to effective motivation is... |

Public Speaking and Panic Attacks |
|
It is often observed that many people’s top ranking fear is not death but having to speak in public. The joke is that these people would rather be lying in the casket at the funeral than giving the eulogy. Public speaking for people who suffer from panic attacks or general anxiety often becomes a major source of worry weeks or even months before the speaking event is to occur. These speaking engagements do not necessarily have to be the traditional “on a podium” events but can be as simple as an office meeting where the individual is expected to express an opinion or give verbal feedback. The fear of public speaking and panic attacks in this case centers on having an attack while... |

Public Speaking: Pick Your Audience |
|
(Did he say "pick" my public speaking audiences?). Yes, I did say pick your audiences. Some of you may not have this luxury because you must do speaking as part of your job, but those of you that do, will move up faster in the speaking world. When you are a beginning public speaker it is important for you to experience different types of audiences just FOR the experience. As you climb the speaking ladder where the audiences are bigger, or more important to your career, and the stakes are higher, you must learn to just say no. Most top speakers don't accept every request to speak even if they are available, and the money is right. They pick their engagements to put themselves in front of... |

Public Speaking: Say it with Flowers
Author:
Tom Antion
A public speaking friend of mine had a deal with a local flower shop. When he had a program he would buy up all the fresh flowers that the flower shop could not sell. He got them for a really cheap price. The flowers were destined for the dumpster anyway so the florist was thrilled to get anything for them. The speaker would arrive to big fanfare throwing flowers into the crowd. Everyone got a flower to take home and depending on the size of the crowd, some would get a whole bouquet. He also sent big bunches as his thank you gift to the meeting organizer. He purposely sent so many that the organizer could not possibly take them all home. His good will (and name) was spread all over the company he was speaking for and the people in the audience had a blast. Choosing a Hot Keyword: Advice for Aspiring Public Speakers |
|
When choosing keywords, you’ll want to stay away from using general terms like “speaker,” for example. This will only leave you competing with stereo speakers for a top ten spot in a search engine like Google. Don’t discard the word from your list altogether, but don’t make it number one either. Think about what services you offer. Let’s say you are a customer service speaker in Los Angeles. Some key phrases for you to use might be “customer service speaker” or “customer service trainer.” The best key phrase to use would be “customer service speaker Los Angeles,” the more specific the better. Your audience is trying to locate you, why not give them the easiest possible way to find you? Somewhere, someone is sitting at their desk right now saying “But Tom, I speak all over the world, this technique will limit my business to strictly Los Angeles!” Wrong. Here are some more keyword phrases to help get you started: “customer service speaker San Francisco” “customer service speaker New York”. So what if you don’t live or speak in these places? We are playing the search engine game here, so when someone finds one of these pages, the top could read “Special Discount to Programs in the Las Vegas Area” (or something like that.) You’ll at least get a shot at the business even though some of the people typing in these phrases aren’t looking for you at least your name is out there. *Note: If you want the job and they won’t pay travel expenses, use some of those frequent flyer miles you have been saving up. It just might seal the deal. About the Author Tom Antion provides entertaining speeches and educational seminars.
